Winemaking
The 2021 vintage was exceptional across South Eastern Australia with one the coldest winters in recent memory, followed by a warm and dry spring, enabling even fruit set. The warm, dry, and consistent conditions prevailed throughout summer, resulting in highly concentrated berries with optimum acid retention and vibrant fruit flavours. Our Shiraz parcels were harvested in the cool of the night in mid-March and transported to the winery for processing. Whole berry fermentations were undertaken in static and rotary fermenters for 7 days at 25°C, ahead of draining, pressing and racking into American and French oak for malolactic fermentation and maturation for 14 months. Only the best of the hand selected barrels made the grade before blending, stabilisation and bottling.

"Richly fruited and inviting, the wine shows blackberry, toasted spice, rich floral and cedary oak characters. The palate displays excellent weight and plump mouthfeel, wonderfully supported by silky texture and grainy tannins, finishing robust and persistent. At its best: now to 2029. "

"Really youthful and dark in the glass. Aromas of plum, blackberry, spice and a green, woodsy lift. Sweet, fleshy, dark fruited and easy drinking."
"Just as the label says. Pretty dark and dense Shiraz. Crowd pleaser style and loads to enjoy here for only $18 bucks. These are the sorts of wines which get you into wine as you remember the label and cheap as chips. Bit of toasty oak and you have a delicious winter red wine."
