Winemaking

Lagrein originates in the Northwest of Italy, in Alto Adige, where it is regarded as the regions finest red varietal.
Thriving in sun drenched sites with free draining soils, the climate in the Riverina is almost ideal, producing concentrated, fruit forward styles with structure. Harvested in the early hours of the morning, our Lagrein was destemmed, chilled, and vinified in a small fermenter with frequent pump overs for eight days. The parcel was pressed to stainless steel, then racked to seasoned oak for malolactic fermentation and maturation, ahead of blending, bottling and release.
