Vermentino is an Italian Varietal, and it is well suited to the warm wine regions of Australia due to its ability to retain freshness and acidity in warmer climates.

Pale lime in colour with silver hues. Our Vermentino is medium bodied with aromas of citrus, pineapple and rosemary, with lush flavours of apple, lime and pineapple.

Vinonotebook on the 2020: "Very pale and almost clear hue. Lightly fragrant with lemon drop, lime flesh pips, green candy apple, tropical melon skin, cotton wool and a steely metal line. There’s a little more flesh to bones than the nose suggests and while the zesty acidity is a somewhat hard and firm as a standalone drink it certainly augurs well for food pairing of a big platter of fritto misti! Serve chilled and have fun. 88/100"

Q wine on the 2020: "A tropical fruit scented Vermentino from the Riverina that comes across more like a Sauv Blanc.
Green melon, snow pea, guava and pineapple aromas dance about with green apples and cut pear driving through the mouth with a squeeze of lime. Clean and crisp, it offers some refreshment for not a lot of money. Drink now. 87/100"

Ciao Magazine August 2020: "The Berton Vineyards 'metal label' range - which also includes a shiraz and durif- represents quite remarkable value - and can be recommended for anyone wanting a few bottles of house wine at a reasonable price" Winsor Dobbin.

June 2020 - Berton the Vermentino South-east Australia, 2019 Featured in The Guardian UK "50 best wines for Summer" by David Williams- A Mediterranean white grape variety that maintains freshness and zip in heat and sun, vermentino is a rising star in Australia. Here Berton uses it to create an easy-breezy leafy-salad-friendly summer sipper with dialed-down tropical and nippy citrus fruit. *Bargain Buy - Metal Label 2019 Vermentino* as featured in Ciao Magazine: "Its is a terrific everyday white quaffing wine, quite pale with zingy Granny Smith and kaffir lime notes leading to a fresh, fruity palate with tropical fruit salad notes." Tasting note by Dobbin Media Tasmania Featured in the March Edition of Wine with Winsor. Matthew Jukes on the 2018: 2018 Berton Vineyard, Vermentino, Riverland, Australia (£8.25, Coop). This epic value wine is one of my 100 Best Australian Wines of the year and I adore its zestiness and verve on the palate. With a faint pineapple husk nose and a sleek, mouth-watering palate this is a superb wine with tapas, mezze and all manner of Asian-influenced sharing plates. It is the consummate all-rounder when it comes to food and wine-matching and it looks the part, too!
TROPHY AND TOP GOLD - Rutherglen wine show 2021 GOLD - Royal Adelaide Wine Show Silver - New World wine awards and Cowra wine show.
