Review for the Metal Label 2019 Black Shiraz:

“A big wine that has a charming side that over delivers on price. Black fruits, liquorice lead the way after dried purple flowers woo you early. Dusty, grainy and drying tannins sap all moisture from the mouth. Its generous, filling the mouth culminating in a long, sustained finish. A super buy, steak to a casual sausage sizzle in the park would go nicely.” 90/100 Qwine - Twitter

Lester Jesberg, Winewise: "A very fresh shiraz in the red berry spectrum of aromas and flavours. It’s a most enjoyable luncheon drink." 3.5 stars, September 2020

Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
The Black Shiraz is a bold example of Australian Shiraz with deep colour and aromas of blackberry and plum over toasty vanillin and spicy oak. The palate is full flavoured and intense with rich plum, blueberry and mocha notes. The tannins are ripe and dense giving great structure and length to the palate.
2019: "Goodness there us a lot here for the price. Chalk and rose petal, blue metal, vanilla, light marshmellow, blueberry, blue plum, cola essence (touch of ginger) and some crunchy thin chocolate. Varietal and dark with reams of mocha and a light sandpaper tannin that clings to the teeth, just to keep it interesting. The finish is a touch short but it stays balanced all the way. Great value." 2018: Gold - CWSA Best Value 2019, Gold - Concourse Int Selections Mondiales Des Vins Canada, Silver - AWC Vienna 2019, Bronze - New World Wine awards, Bronze - Decanter 2019, Bronze - International Wine Challenge 2019, Bronze - London Wine competition.

Bought a 2018 bottle from my local Co-op in Gloucestershire England for £6.00. Lived up to all promises on the label. The quality of any red at twice that price. Hope they don't sell out. Will buy a case! Thank you.
