Berton Vineyards 2018 White Rock Chardonnay

Our Eden Valley Chardonnay is a perfect elegant cool climate Chardonnay. With ripe flavours of peach and crunchy nectarine, the palate is lean with grapefruity acidity and a long length of flavour.

The Berton Vineyard Range is selected from our vineyards set in High Eden, a region of rugged beauty between Eden Valley and the Barossa. The poor soils, rocky outcrops and cool climate provides ideal growing conditions for Chardonnay.

Tasting Notes
Straw in colour, aromas of vanilla and butterscotch are balanced by fresh aromas of candied orange and lush peach. The palate has a generous weight and flavours of lime, lemon and vanilla brioche fill the palate, with great texture and length of flavour.
2018: 92 Points - Nick Butler @ The Real Review - "Straw-yellow colour with paler edges. Rockmelon and lemon zest, roasted nuts and chamomile, complex nose. Well-weighted on the front palate, ripe fruit though still subdued. It glides nicely to a crisp, lemon fleshy finish. Well made and excellent value." Q wine - 90 points: Berton Vineyards have a knack of producing respectable wines at good prices. This Chardonnay is no different. A swirl and a sniff and the freshness of the fruit cannot be disputed. Lemon juice and white nectarine driven, the acid and fruit walk side by side delivering a most pleasurable drink. Some nougat and fine spices to close with a lemony sherbet tang. An extra point added because it kept growing on me. Drink now to five years.
