Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
The Black Shiraz is a bold example of Australian Shiraz with deep colour and aromas of blackberry and plum over toasty vanillin and spicy oak. The palate is full flavoured and intense with rich plum, blueberry and mocha notes. The tannins are ripe and dense giving great structure and length to the palate.
Ratings
Matthew Jukes - Daily Mail UK Weekend Magazine Top 100 Best Value Summer Reds and Rose Wines | Metal Label The Black Shiraz 2016: "This is an imposing and massively impressive wine. It looks good and tastes divine without troubling the wallet too much. Value is one of the main tenets at Bob’s winery and he never lets his fans down. If you love big reds, you’ll love this."

First had the Black Shiraz in the UK at a restaurant whilst on holiday in September. Didn't see the bottle at the time so emailed the restaurant when we got home to Australia to find where it came from - delighted to find out it was from NSW and even more delighted to be able to order it online. Will be ordering more.

Had a chance encounter with this wine at a cafe during a visit to Griffith. Got home and ordered a 2 dozen for my cellar.A lovely full bodied wine for one so young and should be a cracker with cellaring.

First tasted this beautiful wine on QE and once I tracked the winery when back in WA could not wait to order some. Though younger in taste it is still a great wine and if any last that long(!)the flavour will deepen.

Came across Berton Vineyard when avoiding the floods this year, stopped in about 15 minutes before closing time and bought a dozen bottles of the Black Shiraz. Got back to Sydney and everyone I introduced it to loved it. What a fabulous find!
